Charity Wheelchair Rugby League tournament in Deeside on Sunday
North Wales Crusaders Wheelchair RL are holding a competition called the "Peacock Cup" on Sunday 7th October (9am-5pm) at Deeside Leisure Centre CH5 1SA.
This tournament is being held in memory of one of their young members who sadly passed away on 18th May this year - three year old Thomas Jones, who was one of their biggest supporters.
Thomas was the son of the team's junior squad assistant coach, brother of one of the younger players, nephew of one of the senior players and also grandson of the clubs and Wales’s head coach.
The tournament is in aid of Hope House Children's Hospice in Conwy, where the Crusaders will take on Wheelchair sides Hereford Harriers, Hull FC and St Helens.
Entry is free but donations to Hope House will be accepted. During the tournament, there will be a raffle where there are some fantastic prizes including two tickets to the Super League Grand Final (donated by the RFL), a 2017 Wales World Cup shirt (donated by WRL) as well as a number of prizes donated by North Wales Crusaders. All proceeds will be going to Hope House.
