The second round of the Student Home Nations in Limerick saw big wins
Wales have rebooted their Student Home Nations title hopes after a crushing 42-0 win over Ireland on Wednesday evening.
Ireland started confidently forcing a number of back to back sets but they were met by an aggressive and solid Welsh defence.
Having repelled these attacks, Wales opened the scoring when hooker Owain Griffiths dummied his way over under the posts.
Half back Mark Wool converted and showed his marksmanship by superbly converting another three tries form wing debutant Patrick Evans (2) and loose forward Owain Brown to make the half-time score 24-0.
Wales then started the second half in classy fashion when prop Dan Wright broke strongly from his own 20 metre area to put full back Kriss Wilkes in under the posts to make the score 30-0.
Owain Griffiths then registered his second try closely followed by wing Harry Mostyn. Max Bracken converted twice.
This was a solid team performance by Wales in difficult weather conditions.
