West Wales Raiders to donate to Dafydd Hellard's cancer fighting fund

West Wales Raiders have announced that they will donate £2 to Dafydd Hellard testicular cancer treatment for every paying adult attendee at this Sunday’s home fixture against former Super League and World Champions Bradford Bulls.

Bradford, who last won the Super League title in 2005 and World Championship in 2006, have experienced two relegations in this decade, putting them in League 1, the third level of rugby league in the UK.

Admission to fixture which kicks off at 3pm costs £7 for adults and £3 for children.

Dafydd Hellard, the former Valley Cougars and South Wales Scorpions player, who has been involved in the coaching of four teams this season in the Cougars, Aber Valley Wolves U15, Wales U16 and Wales Students, is undergoing treatment for testicular cancer.

Raiders CEO Peter Tiffin said: “Having worked with Daf on numerous occasions over the past couple of years and most recently with the Wales under 16’s we have got to know each other very well, Daf has done so much for the sport and has continued to do so even under his current circumstances. Myself and the other directors wanted to help Daf and thought this fixture would be one of our biggest crowds of the season, so let’s get down to Stebonheath this Sunday to show our support to Daf and also to show that we are all together in Wales Rugby League.”
